- Maximum Age: 37 Years
- Age Relaxation: SC/BC – 5 Years, PwD – 10 Years
- Government Employees – Upper age relaxable up to 45 Years
- Widows / Divorcees / Certain Married Women – Up to 40 Years
- Ex-Servicemen: Service period deducted from actual age as per rules
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s / Master’s / Doctorate degree in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Oil Technology, Agricultural Science, Veterinary Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry or Medicine.
- Other disciplines recognised by FSSAI such as MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS etc. are also eligible.
- Must complete FSSAI-specified training after recruitment before appointment as Food Safety Officer.
- Candidate must have passed Matric with Punjabi and qualify Punjabi language test with minimum 50% marks.
Pay Scale
- Pay Level: Level-5 (Punjab Pay Matrix)
- Salary Range: ₹29,200 – ₹92,300 per month
- As per Punjab Food & Drug Administration Technical Group-C Service Rules, 2016 (amended 03 June 2025)

BFUHS Food Safety Officer Recruitment 2026: Vacancy Details
Selection Process
- Written Test of 100 Marks conducted by BFUHS.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: 33%.
- Final merit prepared on the basis of written examination marks.
- Punjabi Language Test (Matric Level) with minimum 50% marks mandatory.
- Document verification and police verification required before appointment.
- If two candidates score equal marks, older candidate will get preference.
